Issue with the enemies - not expanding

Hey there,

I started playing this map, but it seems to be too huge: the enemies stop expanding at an early point and do not reach any gold (except for the yellow one at the bottom)

how long you were ingame before you made that screenshot ?

you know ... the S2/AI isnt that good by far !!!

To post screenshots, just paste the code as below, I recommend uploading them to imugr:

Just change the HTTPS to HTTP, and the result will be:



Just make sure that the images don't get too big.

gave it a long test case..
as I see it ... the thing with stones on mining sites
has to be discommend to any map/builder out here,

for my part (seen the largeness of bigger maps)
in this case ''A New World''
its acceptable by the way the game turns on/out !!!

the S2/AI game has evermore the same pattern..
first hunter is on stage ...
the lumberjack starts ...
food chain is getting build ...
even b4 they have the mine resource rolling,
it starts with making tools ect ...

let me know ... if(?)you gave it a shot till the end !!!

I played for some hours, as you can see from the size of expanded territory (I always play red ).

Not sure though what I should change now?
I guess the map is too huge and resources are distributed too far away from the AI. In order for them to expand it is usually necessary to have resources in some proximity, otherwise they just stop expanding. In case you position stone deposits above mineable resources, the AI won't get this and does not consider it as available resources.

I recommend to create smaller maps the enemies can be reached more quickly in smaller maps and enemies expand usually better.
For example, in this maps "a new world go" I played hours before even encountering an enemy.
For me personally, I prefer maps where you encounter enemies sooner

it is a give and take situation ...
difficult to serve all parties on wich they feel home..

on the other side:
you need to give the enemy (AI) time to evolve,
no question about that(!)

ps.for myself speaking ...

no plans yet to shape another map 4 the moment,

and:
fingers crossed that there are players out there
who love settling without a fast brawl on their hand !?!

have a nice one ...

Yes I know. Some players prefer the bigger maps. That's cool of course.
I was just speaking for myself.

And anyway, if enemies do not develop, map is not playable properly Cannot fix it by waiting longer. Sometimes the AI just crashes. It happens from time to time. Question is just, whether this happens just in rare cases in this map, or everytime. One can only find out by doing several trial runs with speed cheat.

In my case, after 6 hours, the enemy continues to expand.
