Where are all the people...

... Or more precisely: where are the enemies?
It is a beautiful landscape, with much details, complex and ever changing settings. It's really fun to explore and increase one's territory. But after hours of settling, there is still no enemy in sight.
maybe it was bad luck with me, but I expanded much faster than them. By the time I made first contact, I already had bigger territory than the territories of all enemies combined. There was no fight for gold in the middle, because they were much too slow. I think the AI is bad with this kind of landscape with a lot of smaller paths and need to mine the stones to make way. They got stuck for several times (I used the uncover cheat to see what's going on at one point in time)
anyway, first contact worked well for me, as I had much more gold and soldiers by that time.

I guess that this map is still has potential to be converted into something remarkable. I recommend to add one or two more enemies (a little closer to human player, so there is something to fight ), and maybe check whether one or two paths for AI can be adjusted for easier passing.
Other than that, it really is a great map with an abundance of things to discover, not knowing what area will be decisive for victory, just demanding by the many options you can pursue when expanding (but not all at once of course).... Really nice!

constant fighting

It also took me a long time to make contact, I had a lot of territory (around 50% of map after the first defeated enemy), an army, gold, etc. I spread quickly. I had no problems with the first enemy (in the east), but the other three enemies kept pressing me. They were developed and had a lot of generals.
I had the largest army but I could not stand the fight on three fronts.

I don't like to use catapults, but this time I saw that I would have to use them. They didn't help either.

I will try again but now i know what to do.

And I have to mention: the map is beautiful.
