STORY:

ENGLISH TRANSLATION BY Arielle62

Our story takes place in 277 BC.There?s war between the emerging Roman Empire and Greece. To pay their troups the Romans run several gold mines within their territory. Two of those important gold mines are on the island Wantonga, which is already sunk into the Mediterranian Sea. For the Roman soldiers, who are very much accepted by the locals, the island is pure paradise.

?Prefect Carius? diary?
The transportation ship from Rome had sunk. Luckily we were able to save the new catapult from the rebellious natives and to seek shelter. What had happened to the Wantongas? I got the answer at our headquarters, because there king Namos was waiting and asking for my help. As present he gave us the needed munition for our catapult, God knows, where he had got it, and a secret position plan of his people with his army?s weak points. Ofcourse the description about the Greek troups was missing.

Only now I was informed, that his brother Miaos had instigated the Mantonga people and with the help of the priesthood he was able to assume the governmental power. To confirm his power he even has made a pact with the Greek. Those have landed at the southwest of the isalnd and have occupied both important gold mines without any nameable loss.

Without further ado I gave order to my substitude tribune Livius to occupy the island?s capital with his legion, but strangely no feedback. Shortly after I knew why: The traitor and his officers were bribed by the Greek.

So I started the fight with my men against the gigantic superiority. Oh yes, the coward Miaos and his guys flew to a save hiding place.

The prefect?s thoughts on the position plan of king Namos:

1) The weak points of the Wantongas:
a) the iron ore mine of the Wantonga priests (yellow)
b) the two water works of Wantonga town (blue)
c) fishing huts of Wantonga town (blue)
There saboteurs could do their work.

2) Gold mine II has to recaptured as fast as possible. The catapult would be just fine for this job.

3) The traitor tribune Livius should be eliminated as fast as possible.

4) Of course he came up with some more strategies.
