Log book entry of Lucius Aurelius Commodus,
Son of Mark Aurel.

In the early morning of the XIX.III.CLXXXV:
Since weeks heavy storm.
Our ships are floating in the open sea.
The supplies suffice only for few days.

XXV.III.CLXXXV:
Finaly the storm has decreased.
Beaming sunshine.
When the post in his crow nest calls: " land by view " , we catch courage again.
We enter the most fertile one of 3 islands; richly in flora, fauna and raw resources.

XXIX.III.CLXXXV:
From 2 investigation ships which I sent off some days ago only one swept
back. My absolutely tired out captain reported, that the 2nd ship is missing.
He saw from a distance on the northeast island golden occurence, which are so extensive, that he would be still blinded by the shine !
On the island in the east, nevertheless, he noted absolutely foreign warlike people.
The smiths of armaments and swords would sound to him yet in the ears.
I feared the worst!
We must preempt to the enemy in the east and cut off the way to his raw material occurence.
However, we may not neglect our own basic care.

" We will win and see again our beloved Rome, thus true I am your emperor! "
