Gladiator Part 1 (English version)

This is the original Gladiator Part 1 map, translated into English. It is meant as an experiment, to evaluate the demand for HoK maps among the Non-German Settlers community. If you download and play this map, and hopefully enjoy it, please take the time to write a comment here, so we get a better idea if it is worthwhile translating more maps for you. Any comments and suggestions about the map itself (and the quality of the English, which surely can be improved) are of course most welcome as well. Have fun!

Tacitus (Roman Historian) :

Winter 180 AD.:
The twelve year long campaign of the Roman Emperor Marc Aurel against the Barbarian tribes in Europe is reaching a decisive phase. Only one bulwark is left, standing against victory for Rome - and peace and prosperity for the whole Roman Empire: GERMANIA.

With GLADIATOR (split in two parts), I have tried to convert the oscar-winning movie with Russel Crowe into a Settlers HoK game. Of course, with the limitations that map and script are dictating, this was not always possible. Hardcore Gladiator fans may kindly excuse this flaw. I hope, though, to have come as close as possible to the spirit of the movie.

You as the player start the game in the role of Tribune Maximus Decimus Meridius (Erec).

Technical details:
As player, you will change between different characters during the game. For technical reasons, the usual hand symbol indicating conversations is not always available. To start conversations/briefings, you have to lead your character close to NPC's from time to time, in which case, the briefing will start automatically.
