Is "The Vikings" add-on a REQUIREMENT for this map?

Hi,

Even though I don't have "The Vikings" add-on, I can still play the map just fine. However, I seem to be stuck on the first island (the one where the enemy is bombarding you from an elevated position). There just seems to be no way off the island, so I was wondering if this map requires a feature that is only found in "The Vikings" add-on?

Thanks in advance,
Jan

search along the south coast. just below the gold field you will find a hidden harbor place, which is accessible after you have finished your first enemy.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. However, I am not sure I quite follow. You state there is a hidden harbour AFTER I finish the first enemy. However, there is no way I can attack the first enemy; there is simply nowhere to place a building. I found the gold mines just south of him and I built around him to the north all the way to the northeastern coast but there is no way I can get close enough to actually attack him or go any further. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Jan

Hi, I will try some more advice:
So you broke through the bone breaking valley, thats fine!
At the very east of the coast a slope climbs up and then turns south. There you can build a big castle with 9 knights (if you've already build a smaller hut, you won't be able to see the castle bulding place; then waste your hut and try again).
Its may be useful to errect/destroy a watchtower nearby to be able to attack the enemy south upwards.
After your siege there will be freed a small slope down to the harborplace just below the gold mines.
A similiar tactic will needed on the next isle east, while you can raid the isle to the north at the same time. Both isles feature enemys with more and maybe longer bonebreaking passages.
good luck!
