Hi PPPCSC!
What´s about the building option? I can ride, and buy a territory, but i can´t build...what´s wrong?

54 mal wurde die Map runtergeladen und ich bin die einzige mit dem Problem, dass sich das Baumenü nicht öffnen lässt? Steh ich jetzt auf dem Schlauch oder wie *g*

I wasn't aware of this issue... it didn't come up during initial testing. I will re-upload as soon as I can with a version that has a map script function that automatically enables all of the technologies (including buildings). This should really happen anyway, but sometimes I think it doesn't... it's an easy fix but you will have to wait until I change it to V1.4 then re-download. Sorry everyone!

Some maps have teething problems... especially mine, it seems...

But I`m surprised that no one else had this problem.

I`m looking forward to play the map. It looks very promising and is determined to make a lot of fun.

Build Menu Error Fixed... sort of...

Okay, here is the situation...

Today I spent three hours fixing the bug with this map and also with my upcoming XL Northern Europe map which had some similar problems at the start. Basically, the file which runs my quests is Quest System Behaviour 3.7. With that QSB, a lot of the technologies - that's things like build Woodcutter Hut, hold Sermon, do Storehouse Upgrade, etc. - are disabled at map start. I don't know if this is the case every time, but it has been in a couple of recent tests with this map. Anyway, I have to enable all those technologies... one at a time. There are loads of them! There is probably some map script function that I could type in two lines that would do it automatically, but I didn't have time to work out how to do this. So I added these technologies as quest rewards. Loads of them! This took about an hour.

So, I expected that was it, all was fine. But upon testing the map, I had a new problem... no quests! So I reopened the editor, and enabled Debug mode. It stated that the initial quest, which should run automatically on map start, didn't exist. What?!! Of course it does!!! :<

I checked the map script and exported the quests to an .lua file to check them, but there are no errors. And the apparently missing quests are indeed there and named correctly. They just don't trigger. Like I say, another of my maps with the same QSB has the same problem. Debug mode reports 'Error in trigger OnQuestSuccess: Quest: "Auto 0012 - Startup Resources" does not exist', but it does. I keep shouting at it and threatening it, and I tell you, it just wont listen.

If anyone has had a similar problem with QSB3.7 in the past, I'd love to know what the solution is! I might temporarily remove the map while I find a fix if it takes more than a few days, but I will definitely find a solution one way or another.

QSB 3.9

We are working with QSB 3.9, it is much more comfortable than 3.7 ... if you send me your e-mail-address in a PM I will send it to you.

Situation update - V1.4 release

Hi all

I have been working on upgrading the QSB to V3.9 which has fixed a couple of small problems, I have made some slight improvements and corrections to the map itself, and...

The map is now working better
I think it is now okay to play through it; if you get stuck again and I have to re-upload again, I will make a savegame available to download so you don't have to play it all again.

However..
There is still a problem somewhere which I just can't identify. Some quests simply don't trigger, but there is nothing wrong with any of the quest parameters, and now QSB3.9's improved Debug Mode has stopped saying that the quests don't exist... but instead it now just reports nothing at all. There's nothing wrong with the map script either. It's just a mystery!

I've started making Version 1.5 which will have all the quests made in the map script - with a lot of help from LordFWD in getting started; thanks again for this. Meanwhile, I have released V1.4 as you will see.

Many apologies to the 66 users who downloaded this map before the error was identified. And as for the 69 who have downloaded since I added the warning message in the map introduction... hmmm, I suppose you were not in the mood for reading my rather long introduction, yes? Sorry again!

MAPPERS, if you send me a request by Personal Message, I can give you a line of text, which you must change the downloaded S6 map file name to, in order to open it in the editor. My quests are in a rather terrible order because you can't rename the damn things but you can try to solve the mystery if you want.

Any problems with V1.4 (yet)?

Has anyone found any more problems with V1.4? Quests not triggering when one ends and then there is just... nothing? Please post if/when you do.

I'm aware that the cage (interactive object) is not doing anything, I'm trying to work this out. (It's a quest trigger error not a script mistake.)

No problems

I have played this nice little map this noon now and it was all doing well. The cage was gone when the bandits tents were destroyed...I don't know, if I could have use it before.

I could finally play the map. Everything went without problems. I have absolutely nothing to complain about. I really liked the card and I had a lot of fun.

However, I do not know what the cage was standing in the territory on the river. It did not work. And when I took the area, the cage was gone.

But no matter, I am very happy that it has finally worked.

So thank you very much!
I look forward to the next map.

Hi

Very glad to hear that the map now works all the way through!

I'm still working on the pesky cage... no luck so far...
There is still no reaction if the cage is activated. I will upload V1.5 with the cage fixed (but no other changes now that everything else is working) as soon as I get around the problem. It's the same situation still: one of the quests is refusing to trigger and yet bringing up no error in debug mode, and having all the parameters correct.
