Hi Koschke,
good job for your first Map.
No problems. Well done!

Tip:
if you insert textstrings in english language, you don`t need "Umlaute"

The "Umlaute-function" is for german words within:

"ä", "ö", "ü", "ß", "Ä", "Ö", or "Ü"

Really nice first map!

I've did play this map and must say: I'm a little bit fascinated.

It was really cool and i had fun!


But: When the player get the Headquarter , there can you set Enemys 1 or 2 troops.
But all in all a very nice map.

And sorry for my inglisch

That code indeed isn't needed here, but at first I made this map in finnish which requires ä and ö letters, and I left it there after translation.

If you mean setting player 1 and 2 hostitle, I think it's fine to be put on firstmapaction, as the player will quite soon know that there is enemy there. I also prefer creating such commands in FMA if possible.


I'm happy to see positive comments, I really wasn't sure about my level as map creator as I have made maps for my personal use only.

I also got code to name the brothers. I will update the map asap.

Another Feedback

Hi Koschke,

I will start with the pros:

- I really like your mapdesign, well done
- it was a great ballance, I mean its not too easy but possible
- nice idea (story)
- first script? not bad...!

I would improve:
- I got the defeat-screen because all the "brothers" died in the fights. It's ok, you can do so but: Please let the player know about that before entering the battle
- nothing else to add here...

Thank you for a good idea: Recently I've seen more and more active english-speaking users here, so I'm gonna upload my next maps in German and English maybe, I hope that will help some players who don't have so much knowledge about our difficult language

Ok, last point:
Here's a little Comfort for changing the names shown in the bottom right hand corner while selecting an entity.
Note: it's not my work, I only used it in a new map...
As I remember it's made by Mordred. Just paste it in your script and change names etc.

Ok, that's the Comfort, and now type that for example in the beginning of your map (FMA):


MK_RenameEntity("oldname","newname" )


And here you have to change the names, not in the first part!
Note: the "oldname" is the name you used in the map editor.

Well, if you need some more help/infos here I'll help you as far as I can, just remember that I'm not that skilled here like Flodder, Noigi or Fire_Bird for example. (no problems with advertising? )
If there are still some questions etc. left, feel free to answer and ask whatever you want to.

thank for you feedback, great to hear that you liked the map!
I will definetly try your English versions of your maps for sure. Even though I'm 25% german I cannot speak german almost at all. (Ich spreche nicht Deutsch)

About the losing due brother death: I mentioned about that in the 'important' section of the map description, but I see it may be missed easily. I have now underlined that part of the text.

And thanks for the naming code, I will try it asap!

I'm sorry, I didn't read the whole text, so it was my mistake, I just would advice you to mention something like that in the map too. (For some future maps you may create )

Nice map, good story, I like it. I haven't finished yet, but want to report something weird about the upgrade of the town-centers:
In my first try, I had the first center upgraded to 125 inhabitants.
Started another game, upgrade was blocked. Found out, this comes, when I first build the university, then the town-center.
Started a third game, town-center as the very first building. Upgrade was possible (but I didn't) and then was blocked later on in the game. Unfortunately I didn't make enough saves to figure out, what blocked the upgrade this time.
Just as a feedback. Everything else works fine.

Hello Wetterhex,

I see your problem. I wanted that you couldn't upgrade both village centres to level 2 so I put code which prevents that. If there is one town centre in the map the game prevents you from upgrading the other one to town centre aswell.

To get such problem you got is only possible if you do not upgrade the village centre near the keep and rush for the another one and upgrade that one. In that case you can only upgrade the other one to city centre and the village centre cannot be upgraded.

With the help of Mxmln, the brothers now have names. This should make the map easier to play.

warum ist das Ganze in englisch gehalten? Es gibt immer noch Leute die es nicht verstehn, einschließlich meiner Wenigkeit.

Hallo Koschke, hier mein Feedback:
Eine schöne Landschaft.
Die Geschichte war schlüssig.
Die Idee mit den "Helden"  hat mir gefallen. Eine andere Art zu spielen. 
Es gab ausreichend  Rohstoffe.  Die Feinde waren leicht. Ich wünschte, ich  könnte diese Karte  länger spielen.
Gut gemacht.
